The Brownie Promise

A few weeks after joining Brownies, a new girl usually makes a Promise in which she agrees to abide by the laws and values of Girlguiding UK, such as always doing her best and being kind and helpful to others. Making the Promise promotes a sense of belonging and signifies that she has become part of the worldwide guiding family.

A girl makes her Promise when she feels ready, and is not prevented from participating in guiding activities if she has not done so.

The Brownie Promise is:

I promise that I will do my best:
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people
To keep the Brownie Guide Law.

The Brownie Guide Law is:

A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself
and does a good turn every day.

Each Brownie is given her Brownie Adventure Book and Brownie Box when she makes her Brownie Promise.
